About Norwich Accountants, externalaccounts

externalaccounts was founded in 2015 following an unexpected reunion between old college friends, Matt and Billy. Billy had already formed his own successful business in externalservices and saw an opportunity for an accountancy practice to slot in alongside, an opportunity Matt couldn't resist!

In 2023 externalaccounts merged with Jarvis Brown Limited a small firm based in Great Yarmouth, and their founder, Lee Brown, joined the board of externalaccounts. The combination of the two firms gives us greater geographical reach and brings improved resource and experience to the service we offer to our clients.

Matt and Lee are assisted by Calum who helps with year-end accounts production and tax services for many of our clients, and Susan providing bookkeeping and payroll support. Through our sister company, externalservices, we also have access to a variety of lawyers, document controllers and chartered secretaries.

Although we are a small firm, based in rural East Anglia, we have a wide reach both across the UK and overseas. Many of our clients are based in places such as London, Bath, Brighton, Oxford and even Austria and Italy.

Much of this reach is down to our promotion of cloud software for both accounting and data storage, enabling real-time interaction with our clients despite large distances between offices. The 21st century has seen the world become a very small place for trade, and accountancy services are very much part of that, so we feel the firm is ideally positioned to look after our clients, no matter the location.

Our underlying principle is that of excellent, timely, service, and we pride ourselves on being available for clients whenever is most convenient for them, the cloud enables us to work any time in any place. Our clients don't always work 9 to 5, so neither do we.

We strive to go the extra mile for our clients, without trying to charge the earth for doing so. Unexpected charges are a thing of the past.
